April 2013 Educational Forum: My Jihad

Naperville activist Angie Emara discussed MyJihad, the new public campaign to educate America on the real meaning of the word “Jihad” as practiced by the majority of Muslims. Jihad is a central tenet of the Islamic creed which means “struggling in the way of God.” This is both an internal and societal struggle against injustice, poverty, hate, and war. Jihad emphasizes peace and education. It is a personal commitment to service, patience, and determination.
