The Story:

After viewing humanity’s myriad current crises, Robert Koehler contends that “our broken system is based on fear, violence, waste and war,” adding that “the alternative is nothing less than a cultural shift from violence to peace.” Come to hear Koehler’s ideas about how and why an increasing awareness of peace, cooperation and creativity today will affect what we do in the future. Then you will understand why his writing has been termed “blatantly relevant.”

 The Speaker:

The recipient of multiple awards for writing and journalism, Koehler is a Chicago-based journalist and nationally syndicated writer. Above all, he is a self-proclaimed peace journalist who describes his essays as “prayers disguised as op-eds.” In addition, Koehler teaches a class, “Peace Journalism,” at DePaul University and is a trained restorative justice practitioner. Koehler also is the author of a book, “Courage Grows Strong at the Wound,” and his website is www.commonwonders.com.
