American Secretary of State Francis Kellogg and  French  Foreign Minister Aristide Briand signed a pact outlawing war on August 27th, 1928. Nations all over the world joined in and signed the pact. To help publicize this little-known fact, the WSFPC sponsored a Peace Essay Contest. If you support this positive peace initiative please join us for the luncheon. Proceeds will be used to fund next year’s Peace Essay/Response Contest.

Featuring speaker, activist, and author Kathy Kelly from Voices for Creative Nonviolence. Kelly has lived all over the world and advocates for victims of drone attacks and warfare. She has witnessed the “Shock and Awe” bombing of Iraq, “Operation Cast Lead” in Gaza, and has worked closely with the Afghan Peace Volunteers in Kabul.
